This is an exciting year for Outdoor Design & Landscaping, because it will mark our 10th season in business. ODL is own by Eric Deibert and Caleb Svartieon and is located in Brookings, SD. Eric graduated from South Dakota State University in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture and a minor in business.  After graduating he moved back home to Bridgewater, SD and worked at Brickhouse Gardens as a landscape designer and installer. There he would meet with clients, do a design, and install the design with the help of a couple of young guys. This was the first stepping stone in his landscape design career.  The creativity and freedom he found from designing outdoor living spaces only gave him more fuel to want bigger and more designs. So that is when he decided to move back to Brookings and start Outdoor Design & Landscaping with his business partner Caleb Svartieon.

Caleb also attended and graduated from SDSU in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in business. After graduation Caleb stayed in Brookings where he dispatched for his family business and got his real estate license. When deciding to start ODL, it seemed like a perfect match as Eric took care of the landscaping and design side of the business and Caleb took care of the business side.

We started Outdoor Design & Landscaping the spring of 2014 and Outdoor Pool Works in 2023. ODL has prided themselves on taking outdoor areas and turning them into custom outdoor living areas and landscapes.  Our team custom designs and builds each and every landscape we do.  Over the years I have learned and educated myself on 3D design software and computer knowledge. I have instilled that knowledge into my designers at ODL to help build this business to where it is today.
